A look back at my handheld Nintendo systems

With the release of the DSi XL I figured this would be a good time to go back and look at my other Nintendo handhelds that I own and give a brief history of how I got started with the Game Boy’s. Also, it’s hard to notice but there are some very minor audio syncing issues in the video. I have the problem figured out and this will likely be the last video with this problem.

lol @ the technology not being able to handle backlight :D
im not 100% sure but i think i remember my friends gamegear from like 15 years ago (around the time everyone had the first game boy) already was full color with backlight. basically better backlight than the advance sp.
never understood the reasoning from nintendo behind this..probably too expensive at the time as u said, but when the gba came out it should have been no problem anymore..

feels bad man, my first game-boy colour was broken when i was in primary school (i think thats elementary school for usa) i used to sit on a bit of wall and play pokemon and pokemon pinball, always the same spot because it was unshaded so i could see the screen then one day i decided to sit somewhere else, someone threw a ball in my direction and the gameboy smashed on the floor, i remember it like it was yesterday.. oh how i cried

@hitmanbrock i remember renting the playstation one i think it was for playstation man it was sooooo fun

  23. MariosGuy says:

pete, you’re right about the lite being way better in ALMOST every way than the classic.
but for me i found that i absolutely hated the buttons on the lite compared to the classic.

i had to really get used to them it was that bad for me. but other then that yes the classic is very obsolete.
but even so it still suprises me that you dont have one.

i think they would be important to collectors such as yourself since it was the first you know. antique (:

DSi and XL lack backwards compatibility and are therefore inferior… unless the purchaser is frickin’ rich and can effort to buy previous versions.
