When you think C-Gear RNGing is a nightmare, Non C-Gear RNGing is a miracle. This RNG is pretty different to Generation IV methods as it requires loading the game up at a certain date & time, while holding a certain button (or none). It’s also unique that the results varies from different versions, different systems (DS Phat & Lite vs DSi & 3DS), different Mac addresses and different parameters!! At the moment Non C-gear RNGing can only be done on the DS Phat and Lite models. Applications Required: RNG Reporter 9.41 (minimum) No timing based applications like Emloop, Eontimer are required. In this case, I can only save the game to advance the PID so it hits a target that has the correct nature. On this video, if I did not save the game, the PID wouldn’t advance and the nature would be Lonely. Saving the game advances the PID and the next PID was Timid (my preferred nature for Reshiram). Parameters I’ve used to get Reshiram: Pokémon Black on DS Lite VCount: 60 Timer0: C7C GxStat: 6 Vframe: 6 Mac Address: *censored* Seed: 14B11BA6 Full Seed: 14B11BA68A90D3CD Frame: 1 (good because all I need to do is press A) Date & Time: 6th July 2011 9:12:21 pm (21:12:21) I press A to load up Pkmn Black on the menu at 21:12:20 Copying what I did here (Date & Time wise) will not work on your DS mainly because your MAC address is different which means it has different parameters.

You could’ve looked for a seed that could be syncronized, so you didn’t have to save to advance your frame.

Love your videos. Back when I was a total scrub you had a video of RNGing a Ho-oh, and that helped me learn seed hitting. A long time passed, and I’m where I’m at now thanks to you

The first Repel was used to notify 100 steps and I only have to increase the frame by 2, to hit 3.
Then by using the message boards inbetween routes & cities, I encountered the genie and captured it. Luckily on my first attempt the nature was Timid and I didn’t even use a Syncher (since Synchers do not work on Roamers).

I did a Non C-gear seed search, Roamer Encounter with the IVs of:
30 + HP
30 = Atk
30 = Def
31 = SpA
31 = SpD
31 = Speed
For Hidden Power Ice
I managed to find one with a target frame of 3, (walk 128 steps with 2 Pkmn in my party)
I saved the game by the exit of the old woman’s building. Load the game up to hit my seed, used Repel and walked for 128 steps, exit the building, Mashed the A button to skip the text as fast as possible, then find & capture the genie.
@Greenalink Thanks for reply, i went smogon and read a bit ahead. but im still confused. im using dslite for the non-c gear seed, with all the tools. saved in the house, i shall just go out and trigger the event?
i wonder how many frames increase beforehand, or i dont need a target frame?

Then it’s pretty much trial and error, everytime you save the game or hear Chatot’s recorded cry via Status screen it advances the PID by 1.
So for the first time you do it, make sure you hit your non C-gear Seed and trigger the genie. Make sure you mash the A button as fast as you can so that you can get accurate testing for future attempts.
If the 1st one is Serious, try it again but this time advance the PID by 1, go outside, mash the A button, capture it, check nature, repeat

From what I have been reading on Smogon, since it’s a Roamer, you can’t use a Syncher to get the best nature easily and the Rain advances the PID a lot. So the easiest way to hit the right nature is to:
Save before entering the house that triggers the genie, if you have a NDS Adapter Plus (backup save files) you can save inside the house.

Turboblaze has the same effect as Mold Breaker, so FF doesn’t matter.

Turboblaze & Teravolt are technically Mold Breaker with a fancier name. So it negates Heatran’s Fire Type Immunity that is caused by an ability (Flash Fire).
I need to correct you on Heatran – being Fire/Steel means he resists both Dragon (from his steel type) and is immune to Fire normally from his Flash Fire ability. Fire/Steel as a typing does give him neutral damage to Fire, but only with the DW Flame Body ability. Of course, you can just exploit Heatran’s 4x Ground weakness if you need to
