How to Record your Nintendo DS System

This tutorial was voiced and edited by Vdeogamer. I hope it helps! In this tutorial series, I simply show you how to record your Nintendo DS Lite or Original, by using items you might have around your house, or items that you can buy from stores and the web inexpensively. I also show you how to maximize your resolution, and up your quality even more, by teaching you how to edit your clips in Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0. Adobe Premiere Elements 4 seems to be an outdated software, but I think the newer versions can perform these basic changes to edit your clip. Although I didn’t go over this in the video, Windows Movie Maker is able to perform Rotations and Flips as well. These however are housed in effects. Unlike Adobe, it cannot resize your video. The reason I didn’t include it into my tutorial, was because my computer is not cooperating with Windows Movie Maker. Another reason was because I ran out of time. Despite the title, this can basically work for ANY hand held game system. PSP, DSi, GameBoy, anything! Each of these might have their own unique settings though, and may require a few adjustments. If there is anything you don’t understand, or have questions about, feel free to send me a private message or leave a comment. I’ll try to get back to you with an answer. @trumpetboy357 If the settings on your camera are completely auto then no. But if you can adjust the focus and brightness settings of your camera manually, then you should be able to fix it to get the desired picture.

Hey, i use a regular camera to record with, like a pic camera, i use the video attachement but its sometimes bright/ fuzzy, any way to fix that?

@TheGameGuildreviews Adobe Premiere Elements! The latest version is 9.0. The price is a little less than a $100 but if you are an aspiring editor like me, it is well worth the investment.

@ashketchum0625 No it needs good sound

  12. Vdeogamer says:

@ashketchum0625 The boom stand is like an overhanging tripod. It holds the camera itself from an upside down view.

  13. ashketchum0625 says:

Why do you need a boom stand? i can record using a cmera and it has sound.

  14. Vdeogamer says:

@bluedrew17 Perhaps, but you’ve got to make sure you’ve got your screen recorder set right.

  15. bluedrew17 says:

Yeah…I think it’s WAY easier to just use an emulator.

  16. Vdeogamer says:

@iRAWkTheWorld Yeah, but I like using the tripod a bit better. It’s a little safer that way.

  17. iRAWkTheWorld says:

Thank you, this is quite good although all this equipment is not NEEDED to record your DS in a similar way.

If you can easily balance your camera on a high surface while it can still capture in good quality, you can do it that way.

@DiginalFX Oh, intros. I know what an intro is. Yeah, you could probably make some awesome intros with after effects. But, I don’t need an intro myself, so that’s why I was a little confused.

  19. DiginalFX says:

@Vdeogamer thats what i mean but you can make intros a never mind its hard to explain

  20. Vdeogamer says:

@DiginalFX Yeah, I get it bro. But it’s unnecessary to use it for such minor editing.

  21. DiginalFX says:

@Vdeogamer no actually its good for video gaming editing

  22. Vdeogamer says:

@DiginalFX Well, currently I’m a student in high school, so I can get a student discount on it. Second, I don’t just want after effects, because after effects by itself won’t get me much. I can get the CS5 Production Premium for about $500 with the student discount. My reason for upgrading isn’t for the DS recording, because Premiere Elements can also cut the screens seperate, and move them closer together.

  23. DiginalFX says:

@Vdeogamer no i mean for double screen cause you can move it around and cut it so that it looks nicer to move around its much easier all you do is drag it. im really good at after effects also but listin to me dont buy after effects just keep re upping the trial its 999$ yeah overpriced

  24. Vdeogamer says:

@DiginalFX After effects isn’t really for sequencing a video. This does just fine. After Effects is for special effects and extreme editing. I’m thinking about getting Adobe CS5 in the future though. Not sure when of course, cause there is a lot of things I want in the future!

  25. DiginalFX says:

use after effects to edit waay easyer no dont buy it just keep re-upping the trial
