you’re going to love Cradle of Athena. Same type of game play with some new twists and new graphics. I don’t even regret (too much)pre-odering and paying $19.99 for it and it’s now $14.99. This is a great game for an excellent reduced price! If you’ve been disappointed in the recent match 3 game releases this one will restore your faith. I breezed through levels 1-18, but on level 19 things started getting tough and by level 21 are getting even tougher. This game has 100 levels and you must build all 20 buildings before the 100th level or you won’t get Athena built and will have to start over!!

After several disappointing sequels to other games, this one was not disappointing at all. It is GREAT. There are some extras that make it a little different from the original. I love it. And for 14.99, what a deal.

I am a huge fan of Cradle of Rome and Jewel Master: Egypt so I figured it was pretty much a sure bet that this new effort would be just perfect. I was absolutely correct.
The graphics are not anything too special but clear and easy to see. I have a Nintendo DSi XL Burgundy and the graphics aren’t blocky, stretched, or blurry in any way. The touch screen is responsive without any issues. The special items you can build and earn are clear. It is a simple game play and it doesn’t take long to get the hang of it. This has some challenge in it at various levels (as did the other two by Jewel Master) so it’s not just an easy match 3 game – applause for that. I’m pretty picky with my puzzle games and this one is definitely a keeper. I have played Cradle of Rome and the Egypt game multiple times and expect to do so with Cradle of Athena. The music in this one fits my expectations. Suitable but not richly varied it does the job to provide background for focus and concentration.
If you enjoy this type of match 3 game play don’t miss Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes and the original Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords which are my other favorite match 3 games.
