Kindle 2 VS Kindle DX Review by Trevelyn
I have both, well I am selling the smaller one on eBay right now. There are some good/bad differences, but I will try to cover most of them in this video. I purchased the Kindle 2 – 2 weeks ago and realised that it was the coolest electronic device I have ever used. Then I realized I wanted a bigger screen. what can I say I am a sucker for bigger screens.. hence why I am waiting so eagerly for the DS XL to be released in the states! I think we are all fascinated / captivated by bigger screens. TV’s are only getting bigger, game system screens (portable) do better with bigger screens [ sales wise ], computer monitors and resolution are constantly getting bigger and even standards for said resolutions! Not only that, there is a functionality issue that needs to be covered in depth, and that is the Manga / Comic book text size… Yeah, i cover that too. So, I hope this encourages someone to get the new Kindle DX when thinking about the Kindle 2 (that is, iff you read comics and manga) Enjoy!

perhaps amazon brings 4 versions of kindle 3. then u can buy all those 4 versions and finally have 6… wow… think of the “coooool” possibilities to read 6 mangas at the same tme….
and then…. perhaps 26 versions of kindle 4… i bet that you will buy them all…. because it’s “coooool” to have…

The ipad is something completly different from the kindle. And the kindle 3 looks so much better with the graphite. The kindle dx graphite looks so much better than the ipad now.
Sorry, but this looks a peice of shit! My Ipad with Ibooks pisses all over this rubbish.. Looks cheap and nasty.. oh yeh so cool you had to buy a bigger one to read a comic! how sad..
@masterkillas the font size is very small on kindle because on pdf files the kindle only allows to do zoom (not increase de font size) so if you zoom in the PDF you will see the font size bigger but the whole text will not be seeing in full screen you have to scroll right or left . Maybe the Kindle DX doesnt have this problem due to bigger screen sorry for my english
could you theoretically make the margins smaller on the large screen? it seems like such a waste of space

Yo. If you like comics books. Go out and buy a physical copy. Support them. Making comics is a tough industry. They are already scrambling/scared as to what the ipad and kindle can do to them.

Apple has marketed reading on the iPad as one of its main features along with many other things such as web browsing, gaming, music, video, apps and document editing.
Plus have you ever heard of this things called brightness settings? You can use it to turn the brightness down and anyway the LED lit screen allows you to read in the dark and with colour.
@CassettePlaya1 But it’s not the main purpose of the IPad, also you can barely read in that LCD screen without burning your eyes. The IPad it’s a weird gadget for pretentious fashion-geeks, it’s worse than a notebook in hardware, and worse than an iphone in his design, is not that good.
@JimmyCos You are joking right? So Apple creating a third online content store dedicated to digital books, creating a brand new eBook reading application and creating a totally new tablet device was all in vain? Hilarious!
Obviously the iPad was made for reading or else Apple wouldn’t have gone to all that effort in terms of marketing, development and manufacturing for it not to be used for reading books.
