Okamiden DS TGS Trailer
A gorgeous new trailer for the DS sequel to Okami (PS2 and Wii). Very Zelda like, with cel shaded graphics and a full 3D world. This is coming sometime in 2010, although no date has been announced and it’s very early in development. This footage was take at Tokyo Game Show 2009 (today as of the upload date in fact) NOT BY ME. Don’t ask, I don’t have the game. At the date of this video, there is no playable version of it.

Easily the best visuals I’ve ever seen on such “weak” hardware… Then again I think the PS2 original (and the Wii port) had gorgeous visuals too… All on such technically “weak” consoles (PS2 and DS that is)

This game Is already out in Japan, for anyone who’s wondering. I guess this game will come to America next year in 2011. By the way, this is also a new wolf named Chibiterasu, too.

@phaphachboy iphone? Ew, just ew. No buttons = bleh for games. I have a phone myself and like it, but playing games on a touchscreen only is a travesty. Needs buttons to be decent in this type of game.
@WolfsRainBlue556 If you hate DS games due to being boring, this game would be included. Honestly, that’s a very foolish assumption. Being on Wii wouldn’t actually make it any better (except maybe graphically). This is just one of many reasons to choose to buy a DS.

@granvillimus – I kind of beg to differ. Considering the NDS has a huge variety of genre’s out there.
I’d say a tad too much, so I don’t see the problem in making a few games for a better console. The NDS markets a tad saturated with enough games as is.

Loved the game when it came out for Wii…very interactive game indeed…
I think i will enjoy this game on DS as well…DS is well suited for cell shaded games like this.
@granvillimus that still doesnt answer my question. why support an inferior platform when you can make an incredible game on a MORE POWERFUL system. Seems simple to me. I dont think developers should waste their time on original properties for handhelds. Make an incredible big budget game on a powerful home system and port it to the handheld. I want to see what Okami would look like with the power of the PS3 and blue ray.
@OutlawsBebop If everyone said that and used that logic to dismiss any game that COULD have been made on a more powerful console, systems like DS would never get any good games.
i am getting a DS just for this game, but why in the hell would they not make this game for the PS3???? the first one came out on ps2 first and with next gen hardware they could do truly amazing things with the water colored graphics. The game played significantly better on ps2 than wii because of the second joystick for camera control. I never understand why they do stuff like this, just like valkyria chronicles 2 on psp, i wanna play ona big screen dammit

the little okami is so cute~~~ i can’t wait to play it . this game seems so funny ! it’s definitely a fantastic game .
