@LenntBear like choas says, they’re not region locked.

Hi, I don’t know if you still check this video, but will this game work on an American DS?

I can attest that Kanji Sono Mama is indeed a great, cheaper alternative for any DS owners living in Japan who need to be constantly looking up kanji they can’t read. Not sure about people studying the language in their own country, as it’s very much designed for Japanese people who need an English dictionary, not vice-versa.

It’s cool that it has Game & Watch games hidden in there, and a friend of mine told me it’s built in to every Japanese DSi and DSLL.

  4. SaphyraRavyn says:

will it work with the DSI XL?

  5. LifesMineLiveOn says:

on mine dosnt it show up “force” like on yours. is it possibole to change language or something or is it a different type?

  10. Kquadrato says:

Is it possible that I can play on my german nintendo DS those games?

  11. darlindee07 says:

What’s the best way to learn the words? I can read Hiragana and Katakana pretty well and I’m working on Kanji but when I read it I don’t understand the actual word. Basically, what’s the best way to learn Japanese words if you can read the characters besides looking up in the dictionary every 3 seconds?

  12. akumie says:

    from the video I saw
    Game 1: no romaji

I have Kanji Sonomama and My Japanese Coach, but I was looking for something more… Now that I know about Kakitori Kun, I might look into it! ^^
    ありがとうございます!(*_>*)

  18. Trekemonster says:

My Japanese coach also has a small Japanese dictionary on it. It also has common phrases for for tourists and has sound attached to some of the words to help with pronunciation. The lessons on it are okay, but not great. The games on it are pretty bad. But yea… all the buttons are in English, and you can search for Japanese words by the English word. I think the game here would be more helpful for translating the characters though.

  19. xuzumakixrasenganx says:

I have kakitori, but there’s one thing I don’t like about it. When you do the excercises with sentences. There’ll be a word with hiragana, and occasionally I don’t know the word (like how often do you use 田んぼ lol). So it can be difficult to figure out the kanji for it… but besides that I like the game.

  20. daiquirikiss says:

unfortunately i don’t know any good ones.. whenever i searched for games I got “My Japanese Coach” I don’t know how good it is…
Another one I just found is made for little Japanese kids just learning to write. It’s called “Anpanman to Asobo A-I-U-E-O Kyoushitsu” which translates to “Play with Anpanman, A-I-U-E-O Classroom” It’s in Japanese but it’s really easy to use I bet.

  21. EwanTBC says:

    Hi Miko,

I was wondering if you had any English DS game recommendations. By this I mean, games which are designed for English users to learn Japanese. The reason I ask, is that these games are rather difficult to use for beginners, for the reason that all instructions/buttons are in Japanese.

    Cheers

  22. daiquirikiss says:

sure the link is now in the info box.
    the dictionary is called 漢字そのまま楽引辞典

    かんじ・そのまま・らくびき・じてん

  23. Naoyuki126 says:

    hey miko. :]
do you think you could provide us with a link or name of that dictionary you’re using on the DS? after watching this, i’m getting a DS purely for that dictionary.. but i don’t know what it’s called.
thanks a ton. this video helped a LOT, like your others. :]
    happy beginning of spring!

  25. daiquirikiss says:

    no problem!

  26. cget says:

Listen to this song with headphones.

  27. axlar1 says:

@DiegoVizia id say the best song is either snake man or we are the robots.

  28. DiegoVizia says:

@axlar1 Yeah, Megaman 8 OST sucked pretty bad.

Megaman 9 soundtrack is truly excellent, one of the best. And MegaMan 10 OST, while not as good as MM9′s, is still very good and it has the best song of all the entire saga: Nitro Man.

  29. axlar1 says:

@DiegoVizia what ever. i like all the soundtracks. 6 had a great soundtrack, it was just a little different. i do have to admit, 8 has some bad songs. clownman. THAT song sucks. 5s was good, but not better than any other. 9s was fucking awesome.i just cant understand someone NOT LOVING a megaman song, accept like clown man, sword man or mabye comando man.

  30. DiegoVizia says:

@axlar1 I don’t think it’s the best, but it’s true that MegaMan 3 has a good OST. Anyway, I still keep my opinion that only two tracks are outstanding: Snake Man and Spark Man. Spark Man is one of the best of the series though in my opinion.

Not everyone likes the same things. I like a certain style of composition (in minor, with a defined melody, a good bass line, use of dominant and secondary dominants, etc.). Maybe you like another thing, and that’s OK too.

  31. axlar1 says:

@DiegoVizia megaman 3 has the best fuckin soundtrack in the series! and YES IM REPLYING TO A COMMENT 2 YEARS OLD BECAUSE OF HOW WRONG IT WAS!
EVERY FUCKIN MEGAMAN SONG IN THE SERIES IS GREAT! EXCEPT A FEW SONGS!

  32. Hadou69 says:

for me 1st Snake Eyes, 2nd Esperanto, 3rd Through the Lightning, 4th Wonder Panorama and 5th Twisted Vine are the best tecno capcom music!

  33. hypersonic64 says:

Anyone ever try to compare this with Wily Stage 2 from Megaman 1?

  34. tacoboy151 says:

dam it y did i sell my ds D:

  35. GEFN7 says:

    TECNO RAVE PARTY!

  36. rockmusscarcella says:

I don’t like Mega Man “new” generation, but this theme it’s badass.~

  37. TailsFiraga says:

Mega Man ZX goes down as my favorite Mega Man game. Ever.

And the music’s “real name” on the ZX soundtrack is “Snake Eyes”

But it’s so awesome, I don’t care what its name is. It gets me pumped for that Serpent Battle!

  38. Wheelofrally says:

Do so. It’s ABSOLUTELY worth it.
Kinda hard in the beginning but it becomes loads of fun once ya get into it.

  39. TheUnknownRush says:

In a particular way yes, however unlike Axl,Model A is more cowardly since he wanted to get out of any maverick situation along with Grey/Ashe of course, but at times he tends to act valiant during the game.

  40. TranceCore3 says:

model A is essentially axl. It’s pretty obvious. if you play ZXA you’ll see why.

  41. MegamanXmaster2 says:

    remake X1 – MegaMan Maverick Hunter X – PSP

  42. MegamanXmaster2 says:

if so homesick gives us, which I also,
I think that Capcom should create a remake of megaman X1, 2,3,4,5,6,7 and 8 with better graphics like the megaman X command mission, some people said they like the remake of X1 was not very success it would not put the X2 but I think that if they did the X4, 5 and 6 terms, there would be more

  43. FirstEmperor says:

One of my favorite stage themes from ZX! I also thought it was really cool that they remixed the game over theme for the final stage.

  44. bushwhacker2k says:

Metroid, ooo. A pain? I’m guessing by that you mean it’s hard, which is good. :D

  45. bushwhacker2k says:

Righto, this music is quite good :D

I think I may give it a try

  46. JFGBD says:

Model A looks strikingly similar to Axl, which is also from the X series, but it’s not really Axl because it only looks like him.

  47. wantcookie says:

I can’t tell if that’s sarcastic or not. XD
I honestly liked the game. You ought to try it, Bushwhacker.

  48. Yurikan says:

I want to play megaman ZX, but I can’t find the freaking game anywhere for sale. I played ZX advent, but honestly that didn’t feel much like a megaman game considering the main character doesn’t even look like or even have the same feel as Classic, X, or even the Zero Series. Honestly the one thing this series has going for it is nostalgia at this point.

  49. TehMarche says:

Yes. The whole exploration system is alot like Metroid, which I find lovely. And the game is a pain, which is another +1. Try it yourself.

  50. bushwhacker2k says:

Is ZX good? I don’t know anything about it.
