First, make sure you subscribe to Numbuh, he’s freaking awesome and will be uploading more BW battles soon: www.youtube.com Me and my nig Numbuh214 decided to test what would happen if Torunerosu – the only pure Flying Type in the game – used Roost. As I’m sure you know, in Generation 4, Flying Type Pokemon that used Roost would have their Flying Type removed for that turn, making them their Secondary Type for the rest of the turn. Torunerosu, a pure Flying Type, has no secondary Type. So what Type does it become if it uses Roost? Keep in mind Gamefreak is not stupid and removed Roost as a TM, and Torunerosu can not learn Roost in any possible way.

@skittio there is no ??? type in Gen V. it turns to that type in Gen IV, but obviously it’s a normal type in Gen V.

@densetsu3294 no he can’t, the tests on 4gen were also hacked (first because arceus wasn’t available at the beginning and he couldn’t learn roost).

@shofu in 4th gen, gravity would make flying types fall to the ground, but they didn’t losr their flying type. They became vurnable to both spikes and ground moves, but was still weak to sr, electric attacks and ice attacks. In roost’s describtion it says that the pokémon will lose it’s flying type, but in knock down’s describtion it says that the pokémon will fall to the ground. There is a significent difference. (note that leveitite users will temporarly lose their ability tho).
