mine won’t properly eject or inject games or anything, help?
You know, this is why I never wanted a PS3.. I got one almsot a year ago and i used itfrom time to time but nothing like a hardcoregamer or movie watcher would… 3 days ago it stopped playing blu ray n reading my games… Ive whiped the harddrive to the default settings and I still ahve no luck although I canw atch DVD n burnt data discs I still cant play games.
I look at the receipt, my warrenty is up in 5 days… if UPS was even in my town, theyd never get it to sony in time.
@ConsoleZombie my problem is kinda wierd, as the other peol,e here are saying, my ps3 wont read Blu-rays, but still regular DVD’s and CD’s, but in my case, the PS3 is making a litle clicking sound when i put in a Blu-ray, and after a while, it makes the sound as if it would eject the disc without the disc actually ejecting!

ok i just did what u said above and a disc went in and when i ejected it, it doesnt pull discs in anymore. did i do something wrong?
my ps3 is only dvds and for my video games it just makes a weird ass noise and then it sounds like the disc is going to come out but it doesnt please HELP?

@fummshizle Replace the laser. Those are the classic symptoms.
@consolzombie ok, if i take off the black tape will that do anything to my PS3?

ok, i replaced the laser using this tutorial and now i have no power x.x theres not even a red light? i did everything exactly the same and now it has a different issue. I rechecked to make sure that everything was all connected how it was supposed to be too. If u have any idea wut mistake i may have made let me kno plz.
@awsomedude720 i had the same problem, not sure what the cause is, but it seems that a few of my disks, when put into the system, it will start to read the disk but after a few seconds make the noise like it wants to eject the disk, but the disk don’t come out. Then if i hit the eject button it pops out the disk no prob.

I believe my ps3 has trouble reading dual-layered blu-rays..would this be a symptom of a defective laser or is something out of alignment?
I have swapped out the bad laser for the goodone and now i have an extra cylinder shaped gear that i cant figure out where it goes back into… please advise.

oh, 1 more thing. it is not the laser motor screw as a few videos have identified as a problem associated with my dilemma. just wanted to clarify…
