The Difference Between DS Lite and DSi
Released in March of 2006 the Nintendo DS Lite was a replacement for the original Nintendo DS. The DS signified that it was a Dual Screen system. In late 2008 the DSi was released that had upgraded hardware, larger screens, a built-in Camera and other new features. The DS Lite can play older GameBoy Advance (GBA) games where the DSi cannot due to the lack of a cartridge slot for the GBA games. In the picture below you can see the DSi on the left versus the DS Lite on the right:

Advantages of the DSi:
- Screen is 17% bigger than the DS Lite
- Two built-in cameras. One inside facing the player and the other on the outer shell.
- Built-in SD/SDHC memory card slot for saving pictures and audio
- Built-in web browser
- Built-in MP3 music player
- Can download and play DSi Ware Games
- Plays all previous NDS™ and Nintendo DS Lite™ games!
Disadvantages of the DSi:
- Does NOT play Gameboy Advance™ games due to the lack of slot for GBA cartridges.
