Simple Start Wi-Fi on Japanese and American DS Games
The Simple Start feature allows connecting to a Simple Start compatible router, similar to how the AOSS connection works. Its purpose is only useful in Japan where these routers are sold. However, American games still have the configuration in them, mostly for non-Japanese people (or those that import non-Japanese games) who travel to Japan and wish to use Simple Start. Japanese games have the button right next to the AOSS and manual setup buttons. The menu is hidden in the upper-left pixel of the setup screen. Reaching it requires offsetting the touch screen calibration, using something like a toothpick, or pressing off the screen (like I did); it works with the DS, DS Lite, and DSi. There is also the toothpick trick , but I really don’t recommend that. Do not press excessively hard as you may break your screen. It’s not really so much as a secret as it is a hidden button that only has a use for a smaller demographic. Only a small number of people who own an American game can even find a use for it. The three games used to demonstrate this are Animal Crossing: Wild World, Pokémon Platinum (JP), and Pokémon Platinum (US). bananajokke has confirmed it works in European games. some american games (like Sonic Rush Adventure) with wi-fi capabilities that also change its language to the same as the one on the DS settings show the JP Simple Start button when the DS language is set to japanese, I tried the trick with the other languages and all of them don’t display anything, and so does the error message.
@bovb902 It works with all versions of all Wi-Fi games. It’s very difficult to actually hit the spot because it’s only a single pixel in the top-left corner.

Sorry, but this is not a tutorial for connecting to the Internet to play games. It is a tutorial to show an Easter egg in American games and how to use a Japan-only feature while playing non-Japan games there.
