I tend to pronounce it as either “Super N-E-S” (typed to hopefully indicate to say each letter. Nothing else fancy) or as “Super Nintendo”. In other words, I just don’t pronounce it.

Everything you’re saying about Mario “dumbing people down” and numbing their brains and how it isn’t real gaming is how most hardcore gamers who grew up with the nes, master system, snes, megadrive feel about FPS. What is FPS really? There aren’t any puzzles involved. Just reflexes. How fast can you pull the trigger and how fast can you spin and run around to avoid dying? That’s all a shooter is.
