i do use a nintendo ds or i used it broke last year not me it just dont want to go on but i get the DSi XL next or this week

DSi’s better My cousin has a dsi ll they break very easy. and its has the most worst graphics ever.

The symbols you were asking about are the pre-installed DSiWare available in DSiLL. They have a Japanese dictionary, Brain Age, Flipnote and DSi Brower.
i just saw the new ad for DSi LL and they’re called DS XL in Europe
and i think is because there’s a growing niche in elderly ppl so they want a system that have bigger text and image
