The Nyquist-Shannon sampling theorem, Nintendo DS emulators and QT programming – Hak5
This time on the show Shannon joins us “in studio” to go over a little signal sampling. Jenn has just the emulator for the Nintendo DS-less, and Jason kicks off a series on programming using the QT SDK.

For those who complain they cant hear the 16khz. It’s the video not you or your speakers!
nice boobs
Oh wow, you got Jenn to come on your show. I haven’t seen anything produced by her in ages.
Darren’s facial capillaries are diluted because of “Old Specled Hen” and the such. You need to take it easy dude.
i can hear this TV sound from another room but at 12:00 – nothing.
so it probably don’t survived compression.
Can anyone hear the 16KHz whine? Either the tweeters on my really old speakers aren’t up to the task or they didn’t put it in the video. (I know for a fact that my *ears* are up to the task, because I heard it from a real TV a couple of minutes ago)
yeungling is acceptable american beer…
and the midpoint between 0 and 255 is 127…
TDM could have omitted the signaling bit and simply rolled over to the first link…
i think DS1 should have been the standard last-mile link…
Poor Americans have to drink that shit! Come to Germany and have a real beer!
a linemans handset? is that legal to own for personal use? o.0
knock-ee-yah? what a dumb bitch
I couldn’t here it

Yuengling, one of the few things I miss about the east coast.
Batman Logo all the way !!!
I hate you! why did you put that sound??? it was annoying me T___T
Just wondering if you are going to ever get into c++
if you want to just skip to the ds emulation part just skip to 16:07
what is the name of that beer ?
Your so funny …
@fastjp72 If only we could cut out the batman outline in the middle, that would kick ass!
@Djhg2000 Actually a minute later Darren comments on how the compression might not capture it. My bad
That’s odd, at the 12 min mark I couldn’t hear anything.
However, if I fire up Audacity and tell it to generate a 16kHz tone I can definitely hear it and it’s annoying like *bleep*.
Maybe an audio compression issue?
Tried both 360p and 480p but my computer can’t handle flash in 720p…
@topituulensuu lol i guess the same goes for me
