    Well, pokemon have been able to die since Gen I regardless… Pokemon Tower was considered the “graveyard of Pokemon” if I remember right…

    I think the message that was intended, was their is a price for taking shortcuts. Many people would use ghost to easily beat what is normally a long and often difficult game. And for taking the easy road at the cost of lives, the player would suffer the same fate eventually.

    @Remdog44 you’re right they do mention dead pokemon, but wen i was younger i was more bothered about defeating my enemies and even at such a young age I knew my pokemon wouldn’t die because the technology at the time, I was probably 6.
